I spent the day with Casey. We went to UMBC to buy books and pay tuition. It is such a cool campus except for the hills. Casey and I almost broke a sweat walking to her apartment. Then, we went to Columbia to visit Casey's (more than likely) future workplace. This Old Navy definitely beats the one in the outlets and the people seem friendly, so good for Casey! After that, we went to Ikea and Casey bought a few things. This store was beyond crowded, you could tell a bunch of kids were off to college. I can't believe the countdown is down to four days. I know I'm going to miss my friends, my family, my house, my room, Rocko, and so much more. However, I won't miss my annoying drunk mother every weekend. I'll get to deal with drunk college kids instead.

It's okay though because he did a great job on my third set of temporaries.

Today, I saw Casey and Cassandra. I ate pizza with them. Then, I went to Coldstone Creamery with Melissa and met up with Kayla, Trevor, her little brother and friend. I tried Kayla's creation and it tasted great! There's a bunch of pictures from that little shindig on facebook. After that, I went to the food store (Melissa wanted an apple : ] ) and then to Annapolis Bowl. I didn't bowl too well. My scores were: 87, 80, 112. She only beat me by one point on the last game!

Now, I'm sitting in bed.

FIVE!

Today, I kind of broke my computer downstairs, which could mean all the recordings over the past year and a half could be lost forever (except those lucky enough to have made soundclick). How sad. There may be a miracle in the works, but I won't hold my breath. It also sucks that I can't record again until it's fixed. nt7 was sounding so pretty and was almost ready for its debut. Such a tragedy.

I went to the dentist today. The crowns were the wrong shade, so I'm going back sometime next week. Eesh. Tomorrow, I have to go to KRM to take a picture shaking hands with Kate. Woo.

I'm almost finished What is the What. It's a very episodic sort of tale... so many misfortunes Achak has had to face, it's hard to determine one worse than another. Therefore, there hasn't been much of a climax.
I am back from Richmond.

And Richmond was very fun. The first night, we went downtown to Perytown (Larrytown) and the most memorable thing was my blueberry smoothie. We had dinner at CPK, and I can now say that I like that place. For the longest time, I wasn't too impressed. Cassandra's apartment is too cool. It's got a brick wall, three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a nice kitchen, and a cool living/dining room area. We made some vanilla cupcakes that night, and then choked on them while recording it. On Monday, we went to Belle Isle. What a cool place. We played in James River on the rocks and swam in the current. We also went hiking up a cliff and saw little kids zip-lining across the river. Boy, was I jealous. Then, we went to the outdoor mall, which was super clean and fancy. I was looking for shoes, but didn't find any. Casey and Cassandra got soap. Dinner that night was Olive Garden. Our waitress was Ebonee and I liked her. Today is Cassandra's birthday. We were watching The Mighty Ducks at the stroke of midnight, and suddenly someone turned 20. I can't explain it. Then after some sleep, we cleaned the apartment and headed home. We ate lunch at Bob Evan's (I didn't want to, but they did). I made them go to Giant afterward to get giant cookies. On a scale of 1 to 11, it was a 35.

So, it's two weeks until Boulder. I ain't readys.

Yesterday, I spent the day with Casey and Cassandra. We actually got to kick the soccer ball around, and poor Sandy injured her ankle. I've been listening to her mix nonstop lately. I really love tracks 1 through 6 (2 being my favorite (not counting 1 because of course that's my favorite favorite)). The only tracks I don't care for are 7 and 14, but the rest is great. It has a very coherent vibe, which makes a great mix CD. I'm sure I'll be listening to it for years to come, you bet.

Tonight is FUCKING AVATAR. I can't believe it will end tonight. Reading has prepared me well though, because all good stories come to an end. Perhaps the series will continue; if not, I'm sure I'll be okay.

The carnival starts tomorrow. I really should go, smile, and wave to familiar faces. The summer's flying by.

I did end up hanging with Casey, Cassandra, and Jenn today. We went swimming, dining, and bowling. I had fun. Casssandra made me a mix CD. I haven't listened to it yet, but here's the tracklisting:
"Daylight" - Aesop Rock
"Meet Me Here Later" - Astronautalis
"Seaweed Sheets" - Astronautalis
"Sea Lion" - Sage Francis
"Skinny Love" - Bon Iver
"A Love Song For Gary Newman" - Astronautalis
"Classic Cars" - Bright Eyes
"Flume" - Bon Iver
"Painting" - Atmosphere
**UNKNOWN**
"Leaf House" - Animal Collective
"Lost at Sea (Pt. 1)" - Astronautalis
"Guarantees" - Atmosphere
"Such Great Heights" - Iron and Wine

I have no plans for a while.
July 25-28 - Jessica's beach house
August 3-5 - Richmond with Casey and Cassandra
August 19 - he's off to Denver!

Tonight I hung out with Jenn and Matthew.

After watching a little bit of Avatar, we decided to watch The Kite Runner (sorry Casey). I guess since the book was so good, I should have expected to be disappointed with the movie. Jenn said it was good though. They left out so much like information on the boys' mothers, Amir and Soraya not being able to have children/the issue of adoption, Farid's family, Sohrab attempting suicide, the INS regulations, Soraya's career.... Ah well.

Tomorrow, I'm pretty sure I'm going swimming with Jenn and Casey. I may be hanging with Cassandra as well. Maybe Matt too. What a cool kid he is.

So, I finished The Kite Runner and it's an absolute tie. Both of Hosseini's novels are incredible and I definitely would recommend them to anyone. I can't wait for his third book. Until then, I need to find something else to read.

Yesterday, I went to my uncle's party. Everybody seemed energetic, so many people went swimming and there were a bunch of kids running around. I actually got to talk to my Aunt Katy about A Thousand Splendid Suns, which was cool. The food, as always, was great.

I didn't do much today. At nine, I started to read intending to engross myself in a chapter or two. Instead, I finished the last 143 pages of the book. Seriously, I'm talking about these books so much because they were great.

Tomorrow, I must visit the dentist for whitening trays.

In the mail yesterday, I got my transfer credit evaluation from Colorado, which had the AP credits. And...

I got a 4 on the AP Spanish exam!

The previous highest grade for the high school was a 3. I was expecting a 2 because the test was fucking hard. I also got a 5 or 4 on both the Calculus BC and Statistics exam, which means I'm going into college with 27 credits - 3 shy of being a sophomore. The shit work I did in high school has finally paid off.

Last night, I went out to eat with Jenn and Callie. After hanging out, I spent two hours in my bed reading The Kite Runner, which got so, so good all of a sudden. Now, I can't decide whether I like The Kite Runner or A Thousand Splendid Suns better. I guess the ending will tell.

Next week is going to be awesome. Avatar chapters 12-21 will be on Nickelodeon. I'm still hoping Zuko and Katara get together. Come on, fire and water coming together after 100 years of war. That would be so symbolic. Aang should die. I like him, but the story would be so much more powerful if he died. The next avatar in the cycle will be a waterbender, so maybe Zuko and Katara will have a kid who's the next avatar. That would be really cool. It won't happen though.

Tonight, I'm hanging out with Jenn.

Tomorrow is doctor plus dentist appointment.

Happy birthday Ashley! She's 19!

Today was pretty uneventful. I didn't get a chance to work on nt6 because I was too picky with nt8, but I do think I'm satisfied now. Other than that, I picked The Kite Runner back up and read some. The rape I heard so much about happened, and I'm mad at Amir for not helping Hassan. And I think Hassan knows that Amir was there, that's why he sleeps all day because he's upset. Understandable.

A letter came in the mail today from Colorado. I got an $8000 scholarship that I didn't even know I applied for! So, Colorado's given me $63,000. Maryland would have been more expensive to go to. I also have my $2500 from KRM and the math department too, so my scholarship total so far is $65,500. Cool. FORTY-ONE days until move-in!!

Today, I recorded.
nt8's sounding alright. I need to fix the ending though.

I hung out with Casey and Cassandra some. We played cards, and we went to Safeway and Blockbuster, only to end up not watching the movie or eating the snacks. Oh well.

Tomorrow, I'm going to try and work on nt6! It's hella complicated.

My keyboard downstairs is nasty.
